At ISF we have a team of fully qualified welding operatives able to carry out multiple types of welding both within our manufacturing facility, and on our clients’ sites.
Recently we have renewed their qualifications for TIG welding stainless steel including positional pipe welding, and MAG welding for mild steel parts, ensuring our products meet the requirements for the BS EN1090 standard. The examinations were carried out by our chosen third-party examining body Magna.
We carry out the renewal every 3 years in line with BS EN 9606-1 2017 – the standard that specifies the requirements for qualification testing of welders for fusion welding of steels. We also carry out our own in-house welder prolongation every 6 months, which is done by our own internal responsible welding coordinator (RWC).
Included in those members of the team being tested were our two second year apprentices, which means they will now be qualified to work on our BS EN1090 projects.
This means that whilst our team are consistently maintaining or improving their skill set, our clients can also rest assured that they are working with a fully qualified team who can deliver the best results!
