Last month we were visited by URS who completed our annual on-site surveillance audit for the BS EN 1090 standard.

We are very pleased (though not at all surprised!) to share that the audit was successful, and we have achieved certification for another year.

As a BS EN 1090 certified company, we are certified to manufacture components up to execution class 2 of the standard for CE/UKCA marking of structural steel products. The scope of products under the standard are defined as any fabricated component(s) designed to be load bearing. This includes lighter fabrications such as ladders, walkways, handrails etc.

It is a legal requirement for the manufacturer of components that fall under this scope to be certified to the correct level of the BS EN 1090 standard.

Of course, certification is subject to compliance with the mandatory UKCA or CE Marking process, enabling us to supply structural steel products and our fabricated load bearing parts to the UK or European markets.

A successful audit is evidence of the hard work and commitment we display to ensuring our customers can consistently rely on the high standard of product and services they have come to expect from us, not only in relation to regulatory requirements, but also quality, traceability and health and safety.

So, this is not only excellent news for us, but also for our customers.
