From our base in York, we deliver complex, site-specific projects for customers across the UK and Northern Ireland. With more than 36 years of experience, we pride ourselves on quality, problem-solving and long-term relationships built on trust.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to work alongside our Sales and Project Management team, taking ownership of projects from order handover through to installation and completion.

You’ll manage a varied portfolio of engineering projects, ranging from single machines or structures to complete process lines and towers. This role suits someone who enjoys coordinating people, processes and detail, and who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Take project handovers from the Sales team and act as the main point of contact throughout delivery
  • Visit customer sites to survey proposed works and define project requirements
  • Produce GA concepts from surveys and brief the Drawing Office accordingly
  • Proficiency using Autodesk Inventor would be advantageous, but a minimum understanding of Autocad is required for this role
  • Manage the day-to-day progress of design, manufacture and installation

Planning & Coordination

  • Liaise closely with Sales, Drawing Office, Workshop and Installation teams
  • Maintain project plans and planning boards
  • Review fabrication and site job sheets, and monitor progress
  • Designate Site Managers or Supervisors as required

Procurement & Cost Control

  • Oversee the ordering of materials, specialist parts and hired-in equipment
  • Place orders in the absence of other team members
  • Obtain best value pricing and manage off-hire of equipment
  • Occasionally, arrange accommodation and logistics for site teams
  • Monitor project costs, identify variances and manage overruns

Site & Installation Management

  • Close communication with our site co-ordinator to ensure safe systems of work and installation packs can be produced, issued and communicated to the site teams and clients effectively

Client & Business Engagement

  • Maintain clear communication with customers, managing feedback and changes
  • Review completed projects and feed learning back into the business
  • Support the future development of ISF, including assisting with quotations and learning the sales process

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Actively contribute to ISF’s health and safety culture, reporting incidents and near misses and suggesting improvements
  • Apply training to eliminate and manage risk across sites, workshop and the office
  • Engage fully with ISF’s Quality Management System and support continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in engineering project management
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Confidence working with engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Commitment to high standards of safety and quality

Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or process engineering environments would be an advantage.

What We Offer
  • A varied and rewarding role in a well-established engineering business
  • The opportunity to manage complex, bespoke engineering projects
  • A supportive, experienced team and collaborative working environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Competitive salary, £45-50k based on experience
