A Month of Progress, People, and Performance
November has been a busy and rewarding month at ISF. From welcoming team members and investing in specialist training to delivering strong customer results and celebrating industry recognition, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.
Keeping Safety at the Forefront
Ahead of Bonfire Night, we highlighted the importance of ATEX-certified equipment in environments where explosive atmospheres can form. Our in-house design, manufacture and installation capabilities ensure our customers maintain the highest safety standards year-round.
Welcoming a Familiar Face Back to ISF
We were pleased to welcome back David Peden, who rejoined the business as Installation Coordinator. David previously spent five years with ISF in a hands-on engineering role before gaining further experience supervising at Hinkley Point. His return strengthens our coordination and on-site support for customer projects.
Recognition at the Yorkshire Post Business Awards
We were proud to attend the Yorkshire Post Business Awards after being shortlisted for Small Business of the Year and Business Leader of the Year for Managing Director, Iain Scott. Although we didn’t take home the trophies, being recognised alongside so many high-calibre Yorkshire businesses was an achievement in itself.
Delivering Results for a Long-Standing Customer
This month, we published a case study showcasing a significant mixer upgrade for a customer in Cumbria — part of a working relationship that spans almost 20 years.
The project delivered:
- A 40% increase in production
- A 90% reduction in airborne dust
- Greater efficiency and planning
- The elimination of double-handling
The next phase of work with this customer is already underway.
Investing in Specialist Skills
Ongoing training and development remain a core part of our approach. This month, our Site Installation Engineer, Billy, completed a B2 forklift conversion course to support an upcoming installation involving heavier loads. With help from our approved training partner, The Safety Maintenance Company, we successfully sourced a specialist 7-tonne machine to make the course possible
A Look Back at a Cyclone Upgrade Project
We also revisited a project delivered last October, where we designed and manufactured a new cyclone for a feed mill producing micronised animal feed. Replacing an ageing unit improved both health and safety standards and the quality of the finished product.
Looking Ahead
As we head into December, we remain focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions, developing our people and supporting our customers across the feed milling industry and beyond.
Stay tuned for more updates — there’s plenty still to come.
