Technical Solutions, Team Growth and Industry Impact
February has been another busy and rewarding month at ISF, with progress across projects, people and performance.
Engineering in Action
We were pleased to complete a successful packing plant upgrade for a long-standing Yorkshire customer. By converting two storage bins and installing a new transfer system, we enabled the mill to pack multiple product lines simultaneously, eliminating downtime between batches and increasing output by 6–7 tonnes per hour.
From initial survey through design, in-house fabrication at our York workshop, and on-site installation, the project demonstrated our end-to-end engineering capability and commitment to minimal disruption.
Alongside this, we highlighted our recent pellet press upgrade, where a bespoke modification improved reliability and extended equipment life without the cost of full replacement. These projects reflect one of our core values: Technical — applying deep sector knowledge to deliver practical, measurable results.

The team were also busy in the workshop, fabricating bespoke parts for multiple customer projects.
Investing in People
During National Apprenticeship Week, we celebrated Connor and Finlay, now in their final year at York Sixth Form College. Their progress reflects our long-standing belief that developing future talent is essential to the sustainability of our industry.
That culture starts at the top. Our Founder and Managing Director, Iain Scott, has championed a “sky’s the limit” mindset for 36 years, encouraging progression from apprentices through to senior leadership.
We’re also growing the team and are currently recruiting for an Engineering Project Manager to support continued project demand.
Supporting the Industry
This month, we also shared more insight into how feed mills operate, via the interactive mill process diagram on our website, helping customers and partners better understand the complexity behind efficient feed production.
As always, our focus remains the same: technical excellence, collaborative project delivery, and long-term partnerships within the UK feed milling sector.
A big thank you to our team, customers and partners, we’re looking forward to seeing what Spring brings!
